About the material

Visitors enter an exhibition stand via the floor. Suitable flooring separates the stand from the aisle, guides the eye and extends the brand’s colour scheme.

Common floor coverings

Needle-punch carpet – robust, economical and available in many colours
Velour carpet – softer, high-quality pile for lounge and meeting areas
Platforms with covering – raised stand areas that hide cables and technology
Printed floor graphics – for wayfinding and brand accents

Sustainability

Exhibition carpet is often used only once. EXFAIR therefore prefers recyclable carpets and plans surfaces to minimise offcuts. Where a stand is used regularly, platforms with reusable coverings can be the better choice. More on our page Sustainable exhibition stand.

Regulations

Floor coverings must meet the fire safety requirements of the respective trade fair and be laid slip-resistant. EXFAIR checks the organiser’s technical guidelines and selects the material accordingly.
