Wood and wood-based panels are used wherever an exhibition stand needs custom shapes, warm surfaces or solid fixtures – produced in EXFAIR’s own workshop.
Wood is one of the most versatile materials in stand construction. Whether a counter, platform, shelving wall or freely shaped brand space: wood and wood-based panels make components you cannot buy off the shelf.
Depending on the task, different panel materials are used: medium-density fibreboard (MDF) for smooth, lacquered surfaces, multiplex plywood for robust and visible edges, chipboard for economical back walls, and solid wood for special accents. Surfaces are lacquered, veneered, foiled or printed to match the corporate design.
Wood is a renewable raw material. EXFAIR prefers to work with suppliers whose wood-based materials come from certified forestry, for example with the FSC label. At the end of their use, wooden components are separated by material type and properly recycled. Where reuse is the priority, we combine wood with aluminium system profiles, so that only the bespoke elements are newly built.
Wooden components are made in the EXFAIR workshop in Villingen-Schwenningen. This shortens coordination between planning and production and allows adjustments until shortly before the show. More on freely designed brand spaces under Custom construction.
For every project we check the fire safety requirements of the respective trade fair and select the materials accordingly.

Wood and wood-based panels are the classic material for custom shapes, counters and fixtures in stand construction. EXFAIR processes them in its own workshop in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, and prefers wood-based materials from certified forestry, for example with the FSC label.
