In brief
According to Messe Berlin, the Berlin exhibition grounds at the Funkturm (Berlin ExpoCenter City) offer around 190,000 sqm of exhibition space in 27 halls, complemented by CityCube Berlin, hub27 and +palais.Berlin. EXFAIR designs and builds exhibition stands for exhibitors at ITB Berlin, FRUIT LOGISTICA, InnoTrans, IFA and Grüne Woche.
Messe Berlin at a glance
Trade fairs have been held at the Funkturm grounds since 1924. The leading fairs include ITB Berlin (travel and tourism, annual), FRUIT LOGISTICA (fresh produce, annual), InnoTrans (transport technology, every two years), IFA (consumer electronics and home appliances, annual) and International Green Week (food, agriculture and horticulture, annual). ILA Berlin, by contrast, takes place at Berlin ExpoCenter Airport next to BER.
What to know about stand building in Berlin
Under Messe Berlin's rules for stands requiring approval, the maximum stand height is the clear hall height minus 0.50 m; in halls 8.1, 10.1 and 11.1 the limit is 3.60 m. Two-storey and multi-storey stands and walk-on platforms higher than 20 cm require approval. Individual fairs may have stricter rules. The new venue dock9 is currently being built in place of the former Hall 9, so hall allocations for some fairs may change.

For exhibitors from abroad
Many Berlin trade fairs are highly international – FRUIT LOGISTICA, ITB Berlin and InnoTrans among them. EXFAIR handles the complete on-site stand construction for international exhibitors, with project management in English and German.
Arriving from abroad: From BER airport, S-Bahn S9 runs to Messe Süd without changing (every 20 minutes). Alternatively, take the FEX airport express to the main station in 23 minutes and continue by S-Bahn to Messe Süd. The north entrances are served by U2 (Theodor-Heuss-Platz or Kaiserdamm) and the Ringbahn (Messe Nord/ZOB).
